My philosophy on Pricing

The hardest part of this whole photography thing is setting the price; putting a value on my art.  I believe what I offer is invaluable.  The photos will last forever; longer than a new gadget, a new car or even a new house.  They serve as a portal to a moment of life, frozen forever, as a reminder of things you might not remember years down the road: the way he gently swept the hair from her eyes; the way her eyes searched her mom's for meaning; the way the simple act of blowing a dandelion sparked excitement in his eyes. I love what I do.  Love it.  I wish that money didn't have to be part of it.

I want to give you photos you will adore. The vast majority of photographers give a handful of prints for their fee.  This pricing structure does not appeal to me when I've been in front of the camera.  I want all of the photos that were taken in a session. I want the digital files. I find that when I look at a set of photographs a year after they were taken, my favorites change.  I will see a photo and think, “why didn't I see that photo like this before?”  I believe that the client should be given all the photos from a session.  I believe that those photos should be free of watermarks.  The photos are not about the photographer. The photos are about the people in them.  Scrawling the photographers name anywhere on a photo is invasive of that moment in the photo subject's life.

So here's the deal:

What you get:

• All of the photos from the session on USB drive.

• No watermarks or logos on the photos.

• All photos uploaded to an online password protected gallery.

• Up to thirty of your favorites, color balanced/corrected and print ready.

Session Fees and descriptions:

Family Sessions: $400

I'll spend up to 2 hours with your family in an agreed-upon location shooting your family together being a family.  This session could be the whole family or just the kids. It's great to do the family photo shoots seasonally.

Extended Family Sessions: $500

Pretty much the same as the Family Session except with more people perhaps taking more time as well. Grandmas, Grandpas, Aunts, Uncles are in town and a family photoshoot is on the agenda, this is the session for you.

Maternity Sessions: $350

These sessions generally last from 1-2 hours.  We will choose a location together.  Maternity photoshoots should take place from 34-38 weeks gestation.  The nearer a mom gets to delivery the more tired and uncomfortable she becomes.  I've found that the 34-38 week window is generally a good time to shoot.  Mom is glowing and excited!

Maternity Family Sessions: $400

Same as Maternity session but will include the rest of the family as well. Nothing cuter than the big siblings that are already in love with the baby in the belly. These sessions generally last from 1-2 hours.  We will choose a location together.  Should take place from 34-38 weeks gestation.  The nearer a mom gets to delivery the more tired and uncomfortable she becomes.  I've found that the 34-38 week window is generally a good time to shoot.  Mom is glowing and excited!

Newborn Sessions:  $500

I'll spend 2-3 hours with you and your family.  I will come to you with gear and a few props.  We'll shoot in the room in your house with the best light.  Newborn photo sessions should take place within the first three weeks after birth; if this is your first, this may seem absurd, but the newborn look goes away quickly, and some babies lose that before the 3 week mark.  Please call to schedule before the baby is born so that I can book you in with approximate dates. When the baby is born contact me and we'll adjust if need be.

Headshot Session or Senior Photos : $325

Senior photos- or headshot sessions take 1-2 hours, and include 2-3 wardrobe changes. We will choose a location that offers a variety of backdrops.  A make up artist is recommended for this type of session.  It really is worth it if you can spare the change, not to mention that it removes some stress so you can relax and let yourself shine through.
